Right now you might be too young to understand the full pain and loss of this weekend. Right now you may be wondering why everyone is hugging you and snuggling you and telling you how much they love you.
Right now you may be wanting your mommy and daddy.
But they aren't here.
They're in heaven, buddy. Along with your little sibling. Everyone is very sad right now because it hurts so so bad to lose mommy and daddy. But you should know that your parents are not sad. Nope. They are rejoicing at the feet of the King where you may one day bow too.
Until then, you will be safe in the arms of your heavenly Father who loves you so much. He loves you so much that He put you in a family that loved Jesus and would want you to love Him too.
I cry to think of the many times you will yell out for your mama and she won't be there. I weep that your earthly dad won't teach you how to tie your shoelaces.
This is a time to feel sad about your parents being gone. Maybe some adults, overcome with grief, will say, "It was too early" or "It was not their time to go."
But the truth of the matter is, God's plan is so much greater than our own. I know God will use this tragic, tragic event to show forth His love and grace in ways we cannot understand right now.
Chase, I will be praying for you along with thousands of others who love you. I will be praying for those who are taking care of you and the others who are grieving the loss of your parents.
