DIY: Walnut Sugar Scrub

My face was seriously breaking out today and I felt like it needed some exfoliation. After a quick search online I found a site called Wellness Mama and was impressed by the variety of recipes for all-natural sugar scrubs.

The key to a good scrub, according to this post, was to blend oil in along with the scrub so that your skin is moisturized. For my next scrub I want to try olive oil. It just sounds so soothing.

Just a little bit of a pro-tip though...it gets really greasy so washing it off takes like five minutes. Don't try this if you only have 2 minutes.

For this scrub, using the tips from "Mama,"  I made my own version with WALNUT oil!!!

 Here's what I did:

To a tiny cute bowl I added and blended:

- about 3 tablespoons of white sugar and 3 tablespoons of brown sugar
- about two tablespoons of walnut oil
- Pinch of cinnamon
- a few drops of vanilla extract

Go over a sink and rub all that junk on your face and hands and wherever. Let it sit for about ten- fifteen minutes to let the oil soften your face. Rinse well.

If you have particularly oily skin I would even wash your face with some face wash and put a dab of moisturizer on afterwards.
