Arriving home....

One of my favorite songs (By Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeros) goes: "Oh home, let me come home/ home is whenever I'm with you." [listen to it here]

That is exactly how I felt this entire past 3 1/2 months in Israel. It's not that I didn't thoroughly enjoy myself, but nothing feels as "home" as where your friends and family are living. Something about home that let's you take your guard down and put your feet up in a very unforced way. Oh home!

To be honest, one of my favorite aspects of being home is the food! Whoooo boy- Guacamole Bacon Cheeseburger from Red Robin and lotsa bacon and pork. Stuff that is hard to come by in Israel.

I also really want to bake and cook- maybe I'll start that. I used to have a cooking blog but it's pretty lame... I'll just post any recipes I have on here. Starting with my apple crisp that I made last night....

Basically, you cut a bunch of apples- put oatmeal, lotsa butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon on top...put it in the oven until the top turns brown...PRESTO CHANGE-O. Yummy with mocha chip ice cream.

I'm also in the process of converting a room in our basement into my little nook. A decision I made when I got back so both my sister and I could have our own space. I have a feeling that when I get done, as wonderful as it's turning out, it will be hard to keep cute n' clean.

Ok, so that's it. I still have to post for Galilee at some point. That was an amazing trip and I want to wait until I'm in the writing sort of mood to post that one. But trust me- it's going to be great!
